Kanye wants to pose naked

Getty Images All your dreams are coming true. Kanye West plans to pose naked.

In the February issue of Vibe (via MTV) the outspoken rapper contemplated baring more than just his soul saying "I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture."

So, we all have something to look forward to – Kanye's naughty bits.

Also in the cover story – the only one he has done to promote 808s & Heartbreak – when asked how he feels about fame, Ye said he wants less fans.

"I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans," he told writer Sean Fennessey when asked if was comfortable with fame. "I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility." Anybody out  there willing to give up their spot? Ooh! I will!

Nah, I'm kidding. Kanye is awesome, vocoder and all (I don't want to see him naked though. Please don't make me.) But please don't tell him that. He might get a swelled head.

Ha! Kidding again. It couldn't get any bigger, could it? In fittingly egomaniacal fashion, Kanye declared himself the best entertainer of his generation, telling Vibe, "I believe Beyoncé is the greatest performer of our generation. I believe I am the greatest entertainer of this generation. I go neck-and-neck on Jay-Z and [Lil] Wayne as far as who's the best lyricist. Jay-Z has longevity."

Best Lyricist?
He doesn't even make the top 100. Just for fun, here's the list of 50 emcee's that easily kill Kanye's whole discography with just 16 bars.

Celph Titled
Immortal Technique
Apathy
Vinny Pazz
Jus Allah
Aesop Rock
R.A. the rugged man
Gortex
ill Bill
Necro
Mr. Hyde

Bianca, it's clear you know nothing whatsoever about hip hop if from that list you pick Kool G Rap as the person that's most questionably on it. Perhaps you should have just refrained from commenting at all.

Kanye - is arrogant - bottom line. The guy needs to be humbled sometime. Take all his money away and we'll see how many fans he wants then. What an idiot.

Come on! Any list of the greatest lyricist is totally subjective and is ACTUALLY not a list of the greatest lyricists but in REALITY is a catalogue of the listmaker's favourite lyricists. And judging by some of the inclusions on the above list (Necro, ill bill, Vinny Pazz etc.) one of the main prerequisites to being on Statik's list is having disgusting/offensive/childish lyrics - NOT what a hip-hop purist would call quality.

As far as my own subjective comment - Kanye's lyrics ARE tight if you listen to more than just his radio songs. He often raps about real issues like poverty, and is VERY accomplished at writing songs just about anyone can relate to on some level. But hey I guess if your lyrics appeal to a broad market then you aren't a good lyricist, right Statik?

- 'bianca' obviously knows nothing about hip-hop. Check the myspace pages before posting please.

- 'Sheriffa', the list obviously includes living people. Big L and Big Pun and many others would have also made the list otherwise. How can a subjective list be fake? If you think Kanye is a better lyricist then Vakill, then your criteria must be albums sold, not lyrics.

- 'TenziN'... Same as above. No hating. If I was hating I would have said "Your mom's spinning around in her grave/ cause her son is a mindless consumerist slave/". What does "the stresses of being famous" have to do with saying you are the 'greatest lyricist', other then pulling numerous publicity stunts (like temper tantrums and claiming king)?

- 'Mr. Elephant Tusk'... yes the list is subjective. The subject of ‘best’ must, by definition, be subjective! In my mind the 'best lyricist' has intelligence, can battle (which, sorry to say, includes 'disgusting & offensive lyrics'), has many “punch lines” in each verse and entertainment value. How about if I add Common, Mos Def, Pharoh Monch & Talib Kweli to the list? As for "appealing to a broad market", did I not include many platinum artists (Eminem, Nas, Game, De La Soul, Rakim, GZA, etc..)?

A lyricist is defined as "a person who writes the words for songs" which would include all genre's.

I'm just trying to point out that Kanye is not the greatest songwriter of all-time, hip-hop or otherwise.

The list is just an example of the many emcees’ whom are better songwriters then Kanye. It is not in any particular order and is not meant to be all-inclusive.

For example, he's not even the best songwriter in Chicago. Check Vakill's myspace page and see for your self.

Interesting read from all the comments. But how could Biggie and Tupac not be mentioned in more than ONE of this comments about lists? They had not only the lyrics, but the grittyness, the freestyling ability, and star power to be in most people's top 10 lists, nevermind top 50. Much respect to the dead MC's (Big Pun and Big L included).

By the way, did any of you mention LL Cool J?? He is controversial, but definately deserves at least an Honourable Mention...

First off, I don't listen to this JUNK!!! But I do have to say that if he wants LESS FANS he is not going to get it by gearing down and showing off that RIPPLING HOT BOD!!! (hahaha) Also why would he want to "break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.""

WHAT'S YOUR MAMA GONNA THINK!!!!!!!! DUMBASS!!!!
