Britain votes Britney best celebrity mother, entire nation has children removed

Getty Images In Britain, Britney Spears qualifies as a great mother. The pop star has topped a new poll to find the best celebrity mum (because they spell it "MUM" there and not "MOM") by some company called Park Christmas Savings which clearly boasts a bunch of morons as its client base.

WTH Britain? I'm not usually one to moralize about stars' behaviour. They can do what they want and hey, if I were a bajillionaire, who knows what I'd be getting up to. And, another caveat, I love Britney. You know that right? But let's be honest with ourselves here, Britney, who lost custody of her kids in 2008, is not the best mother out there. I don't care how much of an effort she's making NOW. If you get your kids taken away you get disqualified for Mother of the Year until they are at least teenagers and able to show that they are not permanantly scarred by your behaviour.

Starpulse says,

"She received a mammoth 74 per cent share of the vote… to find the best mother in showbusiness.
Following in second place is Spears' childhood rival, Christina Aguilera, who pulled in 12 per cent of the votes, while mother-of-six Angelina Jolie was in third.
Late British reality TV star Jade Goody and mum-of-one Katie Holmes were awarded the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Other famous matriarchs in the top ten include Madonna, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham."

Weird. (Also, can "show business" be written as one word?)

Also in Britney news this week, her group-sex-glorifying single '3' debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week. That's an honour of which she might be more deserving. So she took to Twitter to thank her fans for making the track an instant hit, tweeting,

"I want to thank my fans for making '3' the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

"I am truly blessed with the greatest fans in the world."

(Said fans are clearly doing a little bit better than the best showbiz mom in the world. Amirite?)

Anyone who would by their two young children $3000.00 worth of candy in Las Vegas certainly does not deserve this title.

Considering how much she has done/accomplished at a very young age, I think she has done very well, coming from a middle class family... in spite of all the negative publicity!!!

CHEERS Britney..wish you all the best in all of your future endeavours, especially with with your two baby boys!!!

Many women have the looks, and have a good income. When they go out

and smile to the audience like her, she sees money in her eyes!!!

Nobody cares about Spears money and about her. Most people don't

even know this English Bitch!

I'm 53 and I was a better parent in my little finger for 25 and half than this girl could be in a hundred thousand years. She is not ever responsible for her own actions, much less than being the mother of the year. The people that started this and the people that voted must all be on heroin from where I sit. Sharon Stone should have rounded out your wonderful list being the hero she is. She lost custody of her child and is so happy go lucky she makes me want to vomit. In my part of the world, if you loose custody of your child or children, you are not a hero, and you fight to get them back asap. And, she should have been #1 on the list, Britney, #2, being she's younger. At least, Britney is fighting and may have won custody back. If this is so, I congratulate her, and hope she proves she deserves them, as shifting babies back and forth just isn't good for the them. Mentally or physically or spiritually. They remember things that we don't, and they(the things) and hit you with them when they're around 20. My daughter hit me with,'I saw when dad burned you with cigarettes. and I saw when he dragged you down the hall by your hair and raped you both ways'. She was three, and I didn't know she was awake. I tried not to make any noise when he burned me, but I screamed on the first one and woke her up. My ex-husband hurt me a lot, in front of my daughter and she saw all of it but she remembered it all in her 20th through her 25th yr, and is still telling me about what she saw.

People need to realize that Britney is not negligent, or stupid, or uncaring, or a bad mother. What she is, is ill.

Mental illness has always had an unfair stigma attached to it. But it's an illness, just like any other illness, which requires medical attention so the sufferer can become well. Britney got diagnosed, she got treatment, and she got better. Kudos to her for it! And the fact that she couldn't care for her children while she was getting the first stages of help? THAT DOES NOT MAKE HER A BAD MOTHER!

Think of it this way. A woman is diagnosed with cancer. She ends up at the hospital with complications six days a week, and can't watch her kids then. When she's home, she's struggling to heal from the treatment, and can't be left alone with the kids in case of complications with the treatment. She can't really resume full parenting duties until she goes into remission. Is that woman a bad mother? No, of course not. Anyone would agree that that woman is merely ill, and her illness has no reflection on her abilites to parent her children when she's well. The only difference between the hypothetical cancer patient and Britney is that people don't consider mental illness to be a "real illness." But it is just as real as cancer.

Mental illness is tough to suffer through even when no one is watching you. Britney struggled to control hers with the entire world watching (and commenting). So maybe the media, and the public, should just give her a break.

Honestly, though Brittany hasn't done the most commendable things the truth is she had some difficult moments in her life. It's not fair to judge someone as they are portrayed by the media. I mean the media was why she snapped. We all have our embarrasing moments, can you imagine someone following you aorund ,taping them and then showing them to the world. The truth is people smash Brittany becasue they have nothing better to do.. So just give her a break. Becasue no one else could handle it in her shoes I gauruntee it, and live your own life not Brittany's.
