Britain votes Britney best celebrity mother, entire nation has children removed
In Britain, Britney Spears qualifies as a great mother. The pop star has topped a new poll to find the best celebrity mum (because they spell it "MUM" there and not "MOM") by some company called Park Christmas Savings which clearly boasts a bunch of morons as its client base.
WTH Britain? I'm not usually one to moralize about stars' behaviour. They can do what they want and hey, if I were a bajillionaire, who knows what I'd be getting up to. And, another caveat, I love Britney. You know that right? But let's be honest with ourselves here, Britney, who lost custody of her kids in 2008, is not the best mother out there. I don't care how much of an effort she's making NOW. If you get your kids taken away you get disqualified for Mother of the Year until they are at least teenagers and able to show that they are not permanantly scarred by your behaviour.
Starpulse says,
"She received a mammoth 74 per cent share of the vote… to find the best mother in showbusiness.
Following in second place is Spears' childhood rival, Christina Aguilera, who pulled in 12 per cent of the votes, while mother-of-six Angelina Jolie was in third.
Late British reality TV star Jade Goody and mum-of-one Katie Holmes were awarded the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Other famous matriarchs in the top ten include Madonna, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham."
Weird. (Also, can "show business" be written as one word?)
Also in Britney news this week, her group-sex-glorifying single '3' debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week. That's an honour of which she might be more deserving. So she took to Twitter to thank her fans for making the track an instant hit, tweeting,
"I want to thank my fans for making '3' the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
"I am truly blessed with the greatest fans in the world."
(Said fans are clearly doing a little bit better than the best showbiz mom in the world. Amirite?)

I don't know if Britney deserves the best Mum title but, she deserves a break. She didn't volunterily make bad judgements, she didn't volunterily give up her kids. She had a mental illness and mental illness is like any other disease. The only difference is Britney was hounded by paparazzi when she was at the height of her mental illness and was played out on the world stage Many mums are suffering from mental illness and can't take care of their kids until they get diagnosis and get help w/ therapy and proper meds. Mental illness can run in families and be brought on my an event like in Britney's case marrying a loser, getting pregnant with 2 kids in 2 yrs and getting divorced. Having kids can shift hormones and cause post partum depression and then fly off into a full blown mental illness. I'm no doctor but, I would say she probably had post partum depression which sparked off bi polar (manic depression)then add a lot of scrutiny about your husband, giving up the career you've had since you were 16 and add cameras in your face every time you step out of the house she didn't have a chance of course she broke down. I think anybody without a mental illness would have a breakdown in that situation.I'm glad she got help and realized she could have her career and be a good mum. Madonna and Christina Aguliera continued to have their careers after kids and now Britney had the same and I think doing what she loves again and doing it well will make her an even better mum.

If you can be hit by the sickness and bad pressure and mockery she has endured you will without qualify her as the best mum ever.

giving her this moniker of best celebrity mom is on the same level of intelligence as giving Hitler or Saddam Hussein a Nobel Peace prize - the words mentally retarded or intellectually challenged don't go far enough in this case - as for you idiots defending her, read this statement again because you people are obviously suffering with short term memory...

Wow i didn't realize there werev that many trailer park hillbillies in England, but than again any country that oppresses dentistry just proves they would pick a girl for best mom that should be a poster child for mental illness of what not to do!!!

Brittany has a lot of growing-up to do before you can give her that title. No she is not the best mother of the year, just because these little girls that voted for her thinks so.

Mom of the year? If she were not famous she would be in jail for endangering a childs life. Lets recap the mom of the years front page stories, Brittany caught driving with infant child in her lap, where were the cops? I'm sure that if one of us mere mortals were to ever attempt that the front page, if we made there, would read crazed mother endangers childs life, and we would be thrown in jail with a full investagation by child services. Brittany deserves mom of the year about as much as Charles Manson deserves man of the year.

i tend to agree mostly with Viktorya and Paige6........only those who are mothers fully understand the complications that can occur when one is pregnant and just having a baby......what we call the "mother blues".....(postpartum blues) can go on for years if not treated..........and apparently, none of that is mentioned by the media , ever.......yes, it is a complicated situation when one has it......and if someone doesn't recognize it for you, it can cripple you for a long time, mentally.
it is very very difficult to "snap" out of it, by your own power......and i think Brititany's father seemed to have recognized something of this form was happening with his daughter.
yes....time will tell, about all us mothers, who think.."they" are the best........but know one knows just how neglectful one can be, until your children have grown up....and have their own responsibilities, and then starts accussing you that you're the reason they can't do what they want to do
"Mother Blues" can be the most powerful destructor on earth, if not realized by someone.....it can cause anything from suicide, murder, to divorce.....etc....so, tell me, isn't that a "grave" mental problem, turning physical because of hormones?......and how would ANYONE be able to conquer that being in the media eye, and pressured more and more with other things, as well as people's bad comments, this would take a lot of strength beyond human nature.......yes....we all make mistakes, but "mother blues" isn't one of them...............that is real.....and it needs great, great support......wonderful blessing that Brittany got support......let's hope that she can stay "with it" to raise her boys.....the best way she knows......so apparently she's not all "bad"....she got them back, didn't she? Maybe this reward will encourage her, even more....

Britney has been in the public eye for nearly all of her life. She not only grew up quickly, in the pulic eye, but also had to contend with living life in a very public fish bowl. I don't know anyone who hasn't made mistakes, major or minor. She WAS ill and, as I see it, has worked very hard to navigate her way in this difficult chosen life of hers. She is better and frankly, she probably has coped much better than most people would have, given ALL of her cicumstances, including her youth.
Did anyone consider that she has worked very hard to become well again??Could YOU do it all in a fish bowl???
She may not be YOUR idea of the "best Celeb Mum" but in some consideration of all she has overcome, just give her the acknowledgement of all of her hard work.
Could YOU have done better??
Criticism is the easy part.Just check and see wether or not YOU live in a glass house before you hurl that first stone.YOU ARE THE SUN TOTAL OF YOUR PAST.How's that working for you????
I'm not her "Mum" but I'm proud of her refusal to give up the good fight.Did it occur to any of you that she just night deserve the title????
