Fall Out Boy going on hiatus. Blame Pete Wentz's fame.
Fall Out Boy were breaking up, then they were not breaking up, now they're taking an "indefinite break," which a lot of people are taking to mean they're breaking up.
This is, of course, very unlikely. Bands on hiatus very rarely stay on hiatus. Even bands that break up don't stay broken up any more. They all come back. Just ask Genesis, the Police, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, Van Halen, The B 52s, The Spice Girls…Oh, and by the way, did you hear? The Red Hot Chili Peppers are making a "comeback." If you, like many, did not notice they were missing, they apparently went on "hiatus" last year. But they're back now. So. Yeah. I guess you can go about your daily lives as usual.
You couldn't pay a band to stay broken up these days. I give this break one year max.
In the interview, Pete Wentz says his celebrity status and high profile relationship with Ashlee Simpson as one of the main reasons for the hiatus.
Wentz says, "My biggest personal reason for taking a break is that I feel my name has become a hindrance for the band.
"(Patrick) is a musical genius and it's unfortunate that he gets reviewed based on whatever's going on in my personal life or how my hair looks.
"I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz. A lot of people think Fall Out Boy is me. But it's the four of us. I want to f**king vomit when I read intros that say, 'Pete Wentz: accidental internet poster boy.' It makes me feel ugly.
"People who read the tabloids probably think all I do is visit Starbucks and hang out in nightclubs."
Fair enough, I guess, but let's not pretend we don't court the attention Pete. You've been the most famous member of Fall Out Boy since long before you hooked up with Simpson the Younger, thanks to always yakking about your suicidal tendencies and depression. As the great sage Simon Cowell once pointed out, it's not that hard to stay out of the spotlight. Some of the best actors in Hollywood manage it.
Fall Out Boy's best of album 'Believers Never Die: Greatest Hits' was released this week. They've never had a number one single so "hits" is relative.

Good reason.
Suggestions:
1) find a better girl friend
2) stay on hiatus for a VERY long time
