Chris Brown

Chris Brown (gasp) deletes Twitter account. Confuses Walmart.

Getty Images Chris Brown has followed Miley Cyrus' lead and deleted his Twitter account, which is probably for the best.

CB went on a rant, blasting Walmart, over the weekend, for apparently not stocking his album:

"JUST WAS AT WALMART IN wallingford CT,844 north colony.. the didnt even have my album in the back... not on shelves, saw for myself...we talked to the managers and the didnt even know anything. wow!!! but they had alicia keys album ready for release for this tuesday comin...no disprespect to alicia at all.. just givin an example to whos album is loaded and ready to go next week."

Raise your hands if you're ready for Chris Brown's comeback

Chris Brown is ready for his comeback, according to Rolling Stone.

Chris' first official live performance since what people are calling his "altercation with Rihanna" but should really be calling "the time he beat the living daylights out of Rihanna" – after which he pled guilty to assault and was sentenced to probation and community service – is scheduled for October 27th and is a slot at New York hip-hop station Power 105's Powerhouse concert at New Jersey's Izod Center.

Chris made a cameo during Lil Wayne's America's Most Wanted tour stop in Virginia, filling in for an injured Drake, but the Powerhouse concert marks the first time his name will officially feature on the bill. Also featured are The-Dream, Fabolous, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Mario and Ginuwine.

Is the world ready for a Chris Brown comeback? Or do we vilify him for the rest of his life? I'm a little of column A and a little of column B (it seems unfair to punish one so young forever) but I'm thinking that if this kid handles himself well – or rather, his handlers do their jobs well – he'll be able to glide over this whole BEATING THE TAR OUT OF HIS GIRLFRIEND thing and come out, if not smelling like roses, then smelling like he used some cologne after a particularly grueling workout.

People have bounced back from worse, or comparable, crimes. Anybody remember Dr. Dre back before he was one of the most respected people in the hip-hop industry? He also reportedly beat the snot out of a female.

Chris Brown climbs back up the charts thanks to Minnesota couple

Getty Images It's been a strange news week in Chris Brown land.

Among the oddities? The "Troubled Singer" (a popular media descriptive that used to apply exclusively to Amy Winehouse but is now being used in equal parts in reference to Brown) is climbing up the charts. Why? Because of a wedding video that went viral, featuring the bridal party dancing down the aisle to Brown's promotional track for Wrigley's gum, Forever.

Chris's career has been suffering for obvious reasons but the vid has given him a bit of a boost. At last check, Forever was at no. 7 on iTunes and no. 3 on Amazon.

The wedding was that of Jill Peterson and Kevin Heinz of St. Paul Minnesota. Interesting choice of music. I get that there's a connection between the title of the song and the idea that marriage is supposed to be, you know, forever, but I'm not sure I'd choose a gum jingle by a girlfriend beater as my wedding song. It just feels like it would be bad juju.

Is Chris Brown's career over? Probably not

So, Chris Brown pled guilty to beating up Rihanna and was sentenced to 180 hours of community labour and five years probation.

And pundits have been asking, and continue to ask, how the events of the past few months will affect Brown's career. Is it over?

MTV News is pondering the question this week and getting experts to weigh in. New York radio personality Miss Info told them, "The plea works in his favour, because it takes the responsibility for his punishment out of his hands.

"He can 'pay his debt' now — no more endless self-flagellation. A judge has given him a sentence, and he will follow it, gladly take that, and then he can say he deserves to move on…I think it's good that he didn't plead no contest and that he did plead guilty. That says: 'I'm not copping a plea. I'm admitting I was wrong.' "
